But what exactly <em>is <\/em>it? In a nutshell, work-life balance refers to the prioritizing of personal and professional aspects of our lives. A balance in the work-life reduces&#8217; employee burnout (which according to a Harvard Business Review &#8211; about 190 billion dollars per year is spent to address the psychological and physical effects of burnout). It increases productivity, creates a less stressed workforce, and better teamwork and communication which can influence the meeting of seasonal peaks in your business, boosting your competitiveness. Sounds great, right?<\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p>Generation Z is entering the workforce, and they are different from the previous generation(s).<\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><em>Forbes<\/em> says they \u201cwant to work on their own and be judged on their own merits rather than those of their team.\u201d and therefore it is important to understand what organizations can do to accommodate the new generation of workers. Hence, we present to you some highly effective ways to improve the work-life balance of your organisation through our research.<\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><strong>Here are five (5) ways your organization can help with work-life balance:<\/strong><\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:list {\"ordered\":true} --><\/p><ol><li><strong>Ensure Expectations Are Clear<\/strong><\/li><\/ol><p><!-- \/wp:list --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p>The current workforce has an underlying issue of employees not completely understanding what their role is in the organization and what is expected of them, according to Gallup\u2019s State of the American Workforce Study, only six (6) out of ten (10) employees know what is expected of them. This generation intends to be extremely invested in their work, they would like to know that their time, efforts, and tasks completed have value to it and therefore organizations should make sure there is a clear understanding.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:image {\"align\":\"center\",\"id\":12226,\"sizeSlug\":\"large\",\"linkDestination\":\"media\"} --><\/p><div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/techlify.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image_6483441__1_.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12226\" src=\"https:\/\/techlify.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image_6483441__1_.jpg\" alt=\"expectations\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div><p><!-- \/wp:image --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p>2. <strong>Provide personalized skills&#8217; development training<\/strong><\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p>The International Labour Organization (ILO) expressed that \u201call workers must be able to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/wcmsp5\/groups\/public\/---ed_emp\/---emp_ent\/documents\/publication\/wcms_761035.pdf\">update their skills regularly<\/a>, especially those facing the digital revolution\u201d.\u00a0 By improving the skill set of employees they would better be able to perform in their job since they would now have a higher level of skills and knowledge. Gen Z is more likely to explore new skills, and they also look for feedback along the way, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/business\/learning\/blog\/learning-and-development\/gen-z-is-shaping-a-new-era-of-learning-heres-what-you-should-kn\">43%<\/a> of Gen Z enjoy a self-directed learning approach, and 77% of them prefer having a millennial manager.<\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p>4. <strong>Adaptive work environment.<\/strong><\/p><p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p><p>Generation Z is known as the very first fully digitalized generation, and they\u2019re also the youngest generation in the workforce.
