Certificate Expiration Emails, Email Tracking, and a host of Updates & Fixes!

This week we’re introducing a few feature improvements and bug fixes. Here are a few of them:

Certificate Expiration Emails

On Mondays at 8:00 a.m., TechlifyHR sends an email listing all training and certificates expiring in the next 30 days.

Email Tracking

We’ve now implemented a way for you to track Payslip Emails that are sent out to employees. This can be accessed via the Payroll view page, where you can see the status of the email after sending payslips. Please note that statuses may take 1-2 minutes to update after being sent.

Overtime

The Overtime Breakdown column on the Paysheet has been updated to better appropriately represent values. ‘Overtime Rate Breakdown’ and ‘Overtime Breakdown’ are both available.

Browser’s built-in pdf

Added a new dialogue box that guides you on how to use the browser’s ‘Built-in PDF’ or ‘Legacy PDF’, as soon as you click on the ‘Get PDF’ button, you’ll see the pop-up below.

Timezone Improvements

Throughout TechlifyHR, we’ve added some improvements to the way timezones are handled, to ensure that browsers (Google Chrome, Safari, etc.) do not auto-adjust dates & times based on your computer’s local configuration. This update would improve the following scenarios that were being affected based on your computer’s & browser configuration: 

  1. Payroll End Date – If the ‘Payroll End Date’ was the same as a ‘Timesheet End Date’, the timesheet would not have been considered.
  2. Salary Start Date – You can now create a salary starting on the same day as the employee’s joining date.
  3. Payroll & Allowances. Related issues with the payroll and allowance forms have been fixed so that dates are now correctly reflected, regardless of time zone.
  4. Timezone Issue (Salary) – Previously, when importing employees (using the date format “YYYY-MM-DD”) it was saved with the salary start date as 1 day before the actual date, this no longer happens.

Minor Features and Updates

  1. Overtime Hours – ‘Overtime Hours’ are now rounded to the next integer for multi-salaried employees.
  2. PAYE Aggegrated Page – A period picker has been included to allow users to choose which period should be displayed on the file.
  3. NIS Export – “Above” has been removed from the NIS TXT and NIS Excel files since it is no longer required.
  4. Bank Export – On the payroll view page, when you click on “Bank Exports -> Republic Bank Payroll File” all banks will now be selected by default.
  5. Payroll Bank Letters – We’ve adjusted the bank letters to exclude payments that are 0 and below.
  6. Salary Amount – The salary amount is now displayed in decimal as it is on the employee profile.
  7. Holiday Rate – The Holiday rate now auto-calculates when the hourly rate was updated for the ‘Time Rated’ salary.
  8. Salary Form – When adding a new salary, the default effective start date is now shown as today’s date instead of the previous salary’s start date.

Bug Fixes

  1. Logo on Paysheet & Payslip – An issue that prevented the logo from printing on the Paysheet & Payslips page has been fixed.
  2. Bank Letters – Fixed an issue where ‘Bank letters’ were not pulling the accurate payment received from the supplementary payrolls.
  3. PAYE Export – Fixed an issue where the PAYE file was previously being exported with cents.
  4. Payroll Add Form – Fixed an issue where employees that were deleted with the payroll multi-delete functionality did not show up in the ‘Add Form’ without refreshing the page.
  5. NIS Export – Fixed an issue where the ‘NIS Export’ and the ‘NIS File’ would fail to export.
  6. Duplicate Bank Letters – Fixed a bug where employees would sometimes duplicate the ‘Bank Letter’.
  7. Republic Bank Export – Fixed an issue where the ‘Republic Bank Export’ would sometimes show no data, even when there is relevant data.
  8. Previous Salary – Fixed a bug where the ‘Previous Salary’ is closed one day before today instead of the new salary start date.
  9. Leave Form – Fixed an issue that was causing the ‘Leave Form’ to be unable to submit. 
  10. Allowance Computation – Fixed an issue where generated ‘Travel Allowance’ and the totals were not matching. 
  11. NIS Excel file – This file can now be downloaded for newly created payrolls.
  12. Overtime Rate and Overtime Breakdown – Fixed the issue where they did not show up on the paysheet when downloading it.
  13. Change Salary – Previously, when selecting change salary, it would throw an error due to sorting, this is now fixed.
  14. Leave Form – Fixed the issue where employees were unable to request a leave.
  15. Payroll Employee Multi-select – Previously when adding a new employee through the payroll employee multi-select functionality, other columns with checkboxes would show up, this bug is now fixed.
